Aims
At the heart of our mission is a commitment to improving the health and well-being of South Asian communities. We aim to:
- Address health inequalities across the South Asian population.
- Reduce the burden of chronic diseases within South Asian communities.
- Identify individuals at risk of developing type 2 diabetes and those with poorly managed type 2 diabetes .
- Foster community-led healthcare solutions by empowering local leaders and organisations.
- To provide health education to the communities and continuous medical education for the clinicians.
Objectives
To achieve our aims, we focus on practical, targeted actions that make a real difference in people’s lives:
- Support mosque committees in promoting holistic health through sermons, health clinics, and lifestyle programmes.
- Map underserved areas within the community that lack adequate healthcare facilities.
- Collaborate with existing health organisations to bridge gaps in care and improve community engagement.
- Provide accessible, culturally tailored health education in languages spoken by the community.
- Train community-based health coaches to offer ongoing support and guidance.
- Identify key community spaces, such as mosques, and train individuals in these areas to promote health and wellness.
- Introduce health education in schools and educational centres to empower future generations.
- To develop continuous medical education programmes for the clinicians.
