Rehabilitation of the Disabled
The Munawwar Welfare Foundation (MWF) is a prominent non-profit organisation primarily operating in Chakwal, Pakistan, working in affiliation with Munawwar Memorial Hospital & College of Optometry. Established in 1997, it provides low-cost and free specialised eye care, general medical services, and educational programmes to impoverished communities.
The Diabetes Centre (TDC), is a not-for-profit state–of–the–art healthcare facility located in Islamabad. The aim of TDC is to provide high-quality medical care to our valuable patients. Their skilled teams support running, managing, and maintaining hospitals, clinics, operation theatres, diagnostic centres, and indoor and outdoor treatment facilities all over Pakistan. They mainly help diabetes patients and provide their care at subsidised rates.
The Health Promotion Foundation (HPF), established in 2017, is a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving health outcomes and supporting vulnerable communities across Pakistan. Since its inception, HPF has been at the forefront of diabetes-related initiatives, including Insulin My Life (IML), Changing Diabetes in Children (CDiC), Life for a Child, IMPACT, the Diabetes Registry of Pakistan (DROP), and the National Diabetes Network (NDN).
Through these comprehensive programs, HPF delivers critical healthcare support by providing life-saving medicines, insulin, and targeted interventions to underprivileged populations, ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare for all.
Setup to improve the quality of life of people with Physical Disabilities, PSRD was originally set up as a physiotherapy centre by a small group of orthopaedic doctors in 1957 in one room within the Mayo Hospital in Lahore, as they felt that physiotherapy was essential for the rehabilitation of patients after surgery.
By 2003 with assistance from the American Friends of PSRD and PSRD’s own resources, the facility includes seating for over a hundred patients, an X-ray unit, a clinical laboratory, examination rooms for doctors, and offices for social welfare officers.
