Our History
Tracing our journey from grassroots beginnings to the start of the new UK Charity journey.
The Beginning...
Our humble beginnings started with a vision to address pressing medical issues in the hometown district, Chakwal, of the mother of our Founder, Dr Sajjad Haider. His mother was Munawar Hasan and a charity named after her, Munawwar Welfare Foundation, was registered in Pakistan for this purpose. Eventually this led to the setting up an Eye Hospital and College of Optometry, in Chakwal, which is still running to this day, and is registered and accredited with the Institute of Health Sciences in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.

Increasing Profile
With growing support, the work of the Pakistan charity expanded its reach, launching impactful programmes and initiatives to empower more lives, especially in the realm of providing aid and medical camps within the rural communities of Chakwal.

Stage 2
Innovation
Embracing innovation, we leveraged technology and sustainable practices to enhance programme effectiveness in recognising and diagnosing medcial issues within the Rural camp setting. Treatment and increasing awareness in those communities also increased, and a new need and focus on Diabetes became apparent from the feedback received and reviewed on the ground.

New UK Charity
The founders and a number of local friends in Birmingham, UK, then decided the time was right to start a UK based charity to fundraise for the medical needs of communities to help increase the benefit of the work in Chakwal, but with a specific focus on Diabetes. A new Charity was therefore born in Munawar Healthcare, registered in the UK with the Charity Commission, and registered number: 1211175.
